Onikipuan Özel Röportajında Kuzey Rüzgarı

Onikipuan röportajları'nda sıra İzlanda'da...Bu yıl İzlanda'yı Euroband grubu "This is my Life" adlı parçayla temsil edecek. Grubun bayan solisti Regina Osk, editörümüzün sorularını yanıtladı.

Sevgili Regina;

İzlanda'yı 2008 Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması'nda temsil etme onurunu kazandınız, tebrik ederiz.

Bize müzik kariyerinizden bahseder misiniz?

18 yaşımdan beri profesyonel olarak şarkı söylüyorum. 2005, 2006 ve 2007 de solo albümlerim yayınlandı ve birçok başka albümde de arka vokalde ya da solist olarak yer aldım. Çeşitli tiyatro ve gruplarla beraber de şarkı söyledim.

Ülkemize karşı rakip olmadan önce, Türkiye sizin için ne ifade ediyordu?Hiç hatırladığınız Türk Eurovision parçası var mı? Bu yılki Eurovision şarkımızı dinlediniz mi?

Türkiye'de hiç bulunmadım ama ülkeniz hakkında hep iyi şeyler duydum. İzlandalılar oraya tatile gidiyorlar ve kimbilir belki ben de yakında sizi ziyaret ederim.

Geçen yılki şarkınız "Shake it up şekerim"'i hatırlıyorum ve gerçekten sevmiştim. Çok hoş videosu vardı ve kızım da gerçekten çok sevmişti:)

Evet, bu seneki şarkınızı dinledim. Bence çok iyi vokallerce seslendirilmiş güçlü bir rock şarkısı.Bence çok hoş bir yarışma olacak çeşitli şarkılarla.

En beğendiğiniz İzlanda Eurovision parçaları hangileridir?

Benimki "Eittlag en", "Draumur um ninu " ve " All out of luck".

Şarkınıza ne kadar güveniyorsunuz?

Tabiki şarkımızı seviyorum. Akılda kalıcı hoş bir dans parçası.

Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması'nda gelecek bir başarının kariyerinizi etkileyeceğine inanıyor musunuz?

Bazen evet. Nereden konuyu ele aldığınıza bağlı.

Bu yarışmada yer almaya nasıl karar verdiniz?

Ben ve Fridrik Omar 2 sene önce bu grubu kurmaya karar verdik ve her türlü ortamlarda çalmaya başladık. Sonra düşündük. Euroband bu yarışmaya katılmalıydı ve programımıza katacağımız kendi şarkımız olmalıydı. Ve şimdi buradayız ve Avrupa için çalmayı dört gözle bekliyoruz.

Önceden İzlanda finalinde hiç yer aldınız mı?

Evet 2006 finalinde 2 numaraydım "Þér við hlið" adlı parçayla.

Bu şarkının size ulaşma hikayesinden bahseder misiniz?

Söylediğimiz şarkı izlandacaydı ve sonra şarkıya dans havası vermek için ingilizceye çevirmeye karar verdik.

Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması'nın kurallarını ve formatını nasıl buluyorsunuz?
Özel olarak hoşlandığınız ya da eleştirebileceğiniz bir yön var mı?

2 yarı final sistemi yüzünden değişiklikler var şimdi.Bunu beğeniyorum çünkü thw formatını deniyorlar.

Daima Eurovision'u sevdim ve ülkemi temsil etmek için dört gözle bekliyorum.

Önceden Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması'nı takip eder miydiniz? Yarışma tarihinden herhangi bir favori parçanız var mı?

Evet, birçok favorim var. "All kinds of everything" , "Non ho l'eta" ve " Wild Dances" 'i Euroband ile söylemeyi seviyorum ve sonra herşey çıldırıyor.

Mayıstan önce promosyon turu yapmayı düşünüyor musunuz? Türkiye bu programa dahil mi?

Şuana kadar herhangi bir şeye karar vermedik ancak çok yakında olacak.

Dear Regina ; Congratulations!!! You have the honour to represent Iceland in Eurovision Song Contest First of all, would you please inform us about your music carreer?

I have benn singing professionally since I was 18. years old.... have released three solo albums (2005,2006,2007) and I have sung songs on many other albums both as a backup and solo artist. I have sung in theaters and several bands.

Before being competitor against Turkey, what was our country meaning to you? Have u ever been to Turkey? Can u remember any Turkish Eurovision song which u like? Did u listen Turkey 2008 song?

I have never been to Turkey but I have heard good things about your country. Icelanders go there on holiday and who knows.... maby I will visit you soon. I remember the song from last year Shake it up shakerim" that I really like.... very cool video and my daughter really liked it (-:. Yes I have listen to your entry this year..... I think it..s a powerful rock-song with very good vocals. I think this will be a good competition with varity of songs

What are your favourite Icelandic Eurovision songs?

Mine are "Eitt lag enn","Draumur um Nínu" and "All out of luck"

How much do you rely on your song?

Of course I love our song.... it..s a very cool dance-track with a catchy melody.

Allright then, do you believe that a success in ESC will contribute to your , career?

In some ways... yes. It depends how you handle it..... and work it out

How did you decide to participate in this contest?

Me and Fridrik Omar decided two years ago to form this band (The Euroband) and we have been playing in allkinds of places. Then we thought: The Euroband has to participate in this contest and have our own song to add on our program..... and hera we are, looking forward to play for Europe

Can you give us brief information about the arrival process of this song?

We sung the sung is Icelandic in the pre-pre selection and then we decided to switch to english and give it a dance feel.

Have u ever competed at any Icelandic national selections before?

Yes, I was nr:2 in the pre-selection in 2006 with the song "Þér við hlið"

How do you find esc in terms of format?

It is changing now because of the two pre-selections..... I like that they are experamenting with thw format

Are there any specialities that you like or criticize?

No, I have always loved Eurovision and look forward to represent my country

Did you follow up esc beforehand? Do you have any favorite song in eurovision history?

Yes, I have alot of favorites..... "All kinds of everything" "No lo'eta" and I like singing "Wild dances" with "The Euroband" Then everything will be crazy!

Do u think to organize a promo tour before May?

Do u think to come to Turkey in this tour? We haven..t decided anything yet, but it will be very soon....

Onikipuan röportajları hız kesmeden devam ediyor. 2008 Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması'nda VODKA adlı parçayla Malta adına yarışacak olan MORENA , Onikipuan editörünün sorularını içtenlikle yanıtladı.

Sevgili Morena;

Malta'yı 2008 Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması'nda temsil etme onurunu kazandınız, tebrik ederiz.

Bize müzik kariyerinizden bahseder misiniz?

Daima şarkı söylemek ilgimi çekmiştir. Ben süpürge sapıyla aynanın karşısında pratik yaparak büyüdüm. Daha sonra koroya katıldım ve ses antremanı yaptım. 18 yaşımda " Spectrum" grubundan solist olmak üzere teklif aldım. Ve sonra aynı zamanda soprano olan kardeşimle sesimi geliştirdim. Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması'na katılmadan önce birkaç festivalde yarıştım ve bu festivalleri kazandım. Eurovision'da ilk denemem 2006 yılında bana gelen bir düet teklifi ile oldu. Sonunda bu sene kendime ait 2 parça ile finallerde yer aldım ve VODKA ile kazandım.

Ülkemize karşı rakip olmadan önce, Türkiye sizin için ne ifade ediyordu?

Daha önce Türkiye'de hiç bulunmadım fakat gitmeyi çok isterim. Gerard bana ülkeniz hakkında çok şey söyledi (çünkü 2004 yılında Julie&Ludwig ile oradaydı) ve Türkiye Maltalılar arasında çok popüler. Türkiye'ye tatile giden birçok Maltalı biliyorum... Sanırım orada kendilerini çok rahat hissettiler, çünkü; halkınız çok hoş ve arkadaş canlısı ve alışveriş mükemmel... Ama belki de Türkiye ile ilgili en güzel şey; önerilmesi gereken çok güzel yerlerin olması. Kendimi Türkiye'ye karşı yarışır gibi göremiyorum, Türkiye'yle beraberim.

Şarkınızı seviyorum, tam bana göre... Ve evet...Sertab'ı hakikaten çok çok çok seviyorum!

En beğendiğiniz Malta Eurovision parçaları hangileridir?

Geçen yıl Vertigo'yu beğenmiştim. Bence daha iyi bir sonucu hak ediyordu. Ama ne sonuç alınacağını bilemezsiniz, Eurovision'u heyecanlı kılan da bu...

Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması'nda gelecek bir başarının kariyerinizi etkileyeceğine inanıyor musunuz?

Evet, buna inanıyorum. Sanırım yarışmacı tüm sanatçılar buna inanıyor. Sanırım Eurovision'a olağanüstü deneyimler yaşamak, yeni insanlar ve kültürler tanımakiçin gidiyor ve seviyoruz. Ama bunun dışında her sanatçı kariyerinde olumlu yönde etki yapacağını umar.

Bu yarışmada yer almaya nasıl karar verdiniz? Bu şarkının size ulaşma hikayesinden bahseder misiniz?

Ben Maltalıların büyük çoğunluğu gibi Eurovision'un daima büyük bir fanatiğiydim! Benim için büyük bir rüyaydı.Philip Vella ve Gerard James Borg ile tanıştım ve bazı şarkılar üzerinde beraber çalışmaya başladık. VODKA aslında Eurovision için değil başka bir proje için hazırlanmıştı. Bununla birlikte elde olan tüm parçaları gözden geçirdik ve VODKA ile Malta Song For Europe ' a katılmaya karar verdik.Ve bunu yaptığımız için mutluyum!
Şarkı yeniden remiks ve master yapıldı ve teknik düzenlemeler yapıldı. Bu işlemleri yapmak için İsveç'teki en iyi stüdyoyu seçtik ve Roxette, Europe gibi birçok sanatçı ile çalışan Ronny Lahti ile çalıştık.

Bence, bu seneki iki yarı final uygulaması daha iyi oldu. Sanırım bu uygulama ileride de korunacak. Eurovision izleyicisinin seslerini, yaşattıkları canlı atmosferi çok seviyorum. Yarışmaya hazırlandığım esnada dahi bu beni heyecanlandırdı ve stresimi üzerimden atmamı sağladı. düşündükçe yapılabilecek çok şey var...

Evvelce Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması'nı takip eder miydiniz? Yarışma tarihinden herhangi bir favori parçanız var mı?

Evet, evet, evet! Belki şaşıracaksınız ama Dana İnternational ve Lordi'yi severim!

Mayıstan önce promosyon turu yapmayı düşünüyor musunuz? Türkiye bu programa dahil mi?

Ooooooh! Türkiye'ye gelebilmeyi çok isterdim. Daha önce de belirttiğim gibi, Türkiye hakkında çok hoş şeyler duydum. Bununla birlikte bu turları planlayan ben değil Maltasong Yönetim Kurulu. Sanrım bu planlamaya göre değişir bir durum. Şu ana dek Ukrayna'da bulundum ve Letonya da listede. Ancak, ekibe mümkünse Türkiye'nin de listeye eklenmesini söuyleyeceğim!!!

Şarkınız sahnede yeniden düzenlenmiş haliyle mi karşımıza çıkacak?

Sanırım birtakım değişiklikler olacak evet ancak ne olacağı kesin değil. Hala bunu tartışmaktayız.

Sahnede düşündüğünüz herhangi bir konsept var mı? İpucu verebilir misiniz?

Malta önelemesinden çok farklı olacağını sanmıyorum. Söylediğim gibi hala otuırup tartışmamız gerekli.

Bu röportaj için bana ayırdığınız zamana teşekkür ederim. Her zaman dediğim gibi, Eurovision fanları canlı tutmasa Eurovision aynı kalamazdı. Benim Türk Eurovision fanlarına mesajım " Sizi 22 Mayıs'ta VODKA diye haykırırken duymak istiyorum! Gelin hep beraber eğlenelim ve Sırbistan'da merhabalaşıp sohbet edelim! VODKA'yı bu gecenin ötesine beraber taşıyalım!"

First of all, would you please inform us about your music career?

I have always been interested in singing. I grew up practising in front of a mirror with a broomstick! Then I was a member in a choir, and I got voice training. At 18, I was asked to be the frontliner of the band “Spectrum”, and then I furthered my vocal training with my sister who is also a Soprano. I took part in a couple of festivals which I won, and finally attempted to get the ticket for the Eurovision Song Contest! My first try was in 2006 when I was asked to be part of a duet. Then this year I wanted to do my own thing and had two songs in the finals! And, I won with VODKA!

Before being competitor against Turkey, what was our country meaning to you? Have u ever been to Turkey? Can u remember any Turkish Eurovision song which u like?

I have never been to Turkey, but I would really like to go. Gerard has told me so manynice things about the country (because he has been there in 2004 with Julie & Ludwig), and Turkey is also very popular with the Maltese. I know a lot of Maltese people who go to turkey on vacation. I think they feel very comfortable there because the people are nice, and friendly. And shopping is great. But perhaps the most beautiful thing is the many nice places Turkey has to offer. Oh, and I do not see myself as competing “against” Turkey, but with Turkey! Love your song, cause it is my kind of taste! And yes… I just love, love, love, Sertab!

What are your favourite Maltese Eurovision songs?

I loved Vertigo last year. I think it deserved better… but you never know what you get, that is why Eurovision is so exciting.

How much do you rely on your song?

I love my song, otherwise I would not have accepted to sing it. I had two songs, “Casanova” and “VODKA” in the finals. I thought they were both very good songs, but my heart was always beating for VODKA. So, I am very happy with it and very happy to get the chance to perform it on the 22nd May!

Allright then, do you believe that a success in ESC will contribute to your career?

Yes, I believe so. I think all artists taking part probably believe so. I think we go to Eurovision because we love this contest, and because it is such an amazing experience to be there and meet so many people, and cultures. But deep down, each artist, is also hoping for a positive contribution to his/her artistic career.

How did you decide to participate in this contest?

I was always a big fan of Eurovision, like most Maltese people are! So it was a big dream for me. I met Philip Vella and Gerard James Borg, and we started working together on some songs. VODKA was not meant for Eurovision, but for a different project. However, once it was ready, we all looked at each other, and we knew we just HAD to submit it to the Maltasong song for Europe finals!!!! And, I am happy with did! 

Can you give us brief information about the arrival process of this song?

The song has been remixed and remastered and technically enhanced. We chose to go to the best Studio in Sweden to do this and worked with Ronny Lahti who has been involved with major artists like Roxette, and Europe.

How do you find esc in terms of format?

I think this year with two semi finals it is better. I think they should keep having this system.

Are there any specialities that you like or criticize?

I actually like the sound of the people in the Arena. I love a lively audience, and so I think the Eurovision fans are creating this wonderful atmosphere. It is also very exciting to live the preparations for the contest! What I could do without is the stress it can bring with it. Too much to do and think about sometimes!

Did you follow up esc beforehand?

Yes, Yes, Yes!

Do you have any favorite song in eurovision history?

You might be surprised with my choice! I loved Dana International and Lordi!

Do u think to organize a promo tour before May? Do u think to come to Turkey in this tour?

Ooooooooh! I would more than love to come to Turkey. I told you, I have heard many nice things about Turkey. However, it is not me who is planning the trip but the Maltasong board. I think it depends on the schedule. I have been to Ukraine so far, and Latvia is on the list too. So, I am just going to tell them to add in Turkey if possible!!!!

Is the song going to be rearrenged at the esc stage?

I think there will be something different yes, but not sure what exactly. We still have to discuss this.

Do you have any concept that you want to form? Can you give us a hint?

I do not think it will be much different from the Maltese preselection. As I told you we still need to sit down and discuss it though.

Thank YOU, for finding the time to interview me. I always say, that Eurovision will not be the same if it were not for the Eurovision fans who keep it alive. My message for all the Turkish Eurovision fans is one. “I want to hear you shout VODKA on may 22nd! Come on let’s party together, and please come and talk to me and say hello in Serbia! Let’s VODKA the night away together!”
